Biography of Eduard Tovpenets, First Deputy Energy Minister of Belarus

Born June 25, 1939, in the village of Kolbcha of the Klichev region, Mogilev oblast. 

Education Minsk Energy College, 1960; Belarusian Polytechnical Institute, 1966, a specialty in industrial heat and power energy. 

Career
From 1960 to 1966 – a foreman, engineer of the gas circuit group of the Mingaz Gas Service Installation Company, the senior engineer – construction manager of the gas circuit group, the senior engineer of the industrial group, the senior engineer of the Promgaz service of the Minskgaz Gas Service Installation Company. 

From 1966 to 1974 – the acting head of the Promgaz service the Minskgaz Gas Service Installation Company.

From 1969 to 1974 – the deputy senior engineer of the Minskgaz Gas Service Installation Company.

From 1974 to 1977 – the head of the operation and technical department of the Main Department for Gas Service Installation of the Council of Ministers of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic (BSSR). 

From 1977 to 1983 – He worked as the head of the Minsk Oblast Gas Service.

From 1983 to 1988 - the deputy chairman of the BSSR State Committee for Gas Service Installation.

From 1988 to 1991 – the deputy chairman of the BSSR State Committee for Fuel and Gas Service Installation.

From 1991 to 1992 – the first deputy chairman of the BSSR State Committee for Fuel and Gas Service Installation.

From 1992 to 2002 – the president of the Belarusian Concern on Fuel and Gas Service Installation.

From 2002 to 2003 –the First Deputy Energy Minister of Belarus.

From 2003 to 2004 –the acting Energy Minister of Belarus.

In 2004 was appointed First Deputy Energy Minister of Belarus.

State Awards: The Red Banner of Labour (1981), the Fatherland Order of the Third Class (2001), the Gratitude of the Belarusian President (1999, 2004), the Certificate of Honour of the Council of Ministers of Belarus (1999, 2005).
